Ministries
Oxford Baptist Chapel has been given the command of Christ to take the gospel to everyone in our community and beyond. It is our firm conviction that not only are people to hear the gospel in a church service, but they need to hear the good news at their work place, at school and in everyday life. As believers, we must GO with the gospel.
We have weekly times to meet together and organize to go out and tell those in our community about the Lord Jesus Christ. We desire to kindly and respectfully share the gospel with everyone who will listen.
Wednesday Sword Club The Sword Club
This meeting is held each Wednesday at 5:30 and is an opportunity for children to learn the great stories of the Bible and to hide God’s Word in their hearts. We have taken Hebrews 4:12 as our theme verse, hence the name "Sword" Club. Please pray that God would work in the hearts of these precious children and that they would come to know Christ as their Saviour. We are so thankful that God has given us this great opportunity and are asking His wisdom and guidance in everything we do.
Monthly Church Bar-B-Q
Once a month, throughout the summer months, we try to have a church picnic in the local meadow. We make a big emphasis on inviting unsaved and unchurched friends and family who would not normally attend a church service. We grill out, play games, and enjoy a time of good Christian fellowship.
Sunday School
Each Sunday, we try to have someone give their testimony for the children. This helps those who have already trusted Christ as their Savior see how to properly give a testimony and also helps those who do not yet understand the meaning of Salvation, to see its life changing power. Sunday school is growing with 19 being our highest day.
Friend and Family Day
Throughout the summer months we have been holding special Sunday services in which the Sunday school children sing, and we have a family dinner to follow. Most recently we had Friend and Family day and had over 40 people in attendance with several first time visitors. A thirteen year old girl attended the morning service with her mother and sister and brought two of her friends back to Sunday school, so we held our first teen Sunday school class that day!
